Katra, a bustling town nestled in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains in Jammu and Kashmir, serves as the gateway to the sacred shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi. Every year, millions of pilgrims from all over the world travel to this holy site, making it one of the most revered and visited pilgrimage destinations in India.
The journey to the holy cave temple involves a trek of approximately 12 kilometers from Katra. The path is filled with chants of ‘Jai Mata Di’ by enthusiastic devotees, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere that keeps travelers motivated. For convenience, the trek can be undertaken on foot, by ponies, palanquins, or even helicopter services.
The shrine itself is located in a natural cave, where the Goddess is worshipped in the form of three natural rock formations known as Pindies, representing Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati. The temple complex is well-maintained, providing a safe and organized spiritual experience for devotees of all ages.

Itinerary Overview
This itinerary centers on providing a seamless pilgrimage experience to Mata Vaishno Devi. It covers your arrival in Jammu, road transfers to Katra, and dedicated time for the yatra (pilgrimage trek) to the holy shrine, ensuring you have ample time for darshan and rest.
Depending on the package duration, the tour may also include side trips to scenic places like Shiv Khori (a holy cave of Lord Shiva) or a leisure day to explore Katra’s local markets, offering a perfect blend of devotion and relaxation.
Day 1: JAMMU – KATRA
Upon arrival at jammu railway station / airport & meet our representative who will transfer you to katra by car 2 hrs drive from jammu on arrival at katra check-in hotel Rest of the day at leisure, Stay overnight at Katra.
Day 2: MATA DARSHAN
Early in the morning proceed further to visit the Holy temple of Vaishno Devi. This temple is situated on the top of the Trikuta hill about 24km away from Katra too & fro. To visit this temple one has to hire a pony, palki or travel by foot. Popular belief holds that anybody who walks the Himalayan trail to her abode to ask for a boon rarely goes back disappointed & 2nd option is by helicopter in 3 hrs your Darshan is complete After visiting the temple return back to Katra overnight stay at katra.
Day 3
KATRA – PATNITOP In the morning after breakfast drive from katra to Patnitop. This famous hill resort is perched on a beautiful plateau at a height of 2,024 meters on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. This place is enveloped by wooded forests. It is ideal for long walks, as a picnic spot and also offers breathtaking views of the mountain-scape of the Chenab basin. During winter skiing facilities are available here. Arrive in Patnitop and check in to hotel & after leave for local sightseeing which includes Nag Temple and excursion to Nathatop etc & over night stay at Patnitop .
Day 4
PATNITOP – JAMMU DEPARTURE Morning After breakfast, transfer will be given to jammu airport / railway station to board your flights / train for onwards destination our service terminates here.
