On arrival at Leh airport & meet our representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Leh. Upon arrival & proceed for check-in at your hotel & remaining of the day will be for rest, to acclimatize & since you are reaching an altitude of 4000 mtrs approximately from 200 mtrs in just one hour time & you may be excited and would want to explore everything on your very first day. However, it is your body which needs to get acclimatized to such height and climate. We sincerely suggest that you rest on the first day for body acclimatization & at evening we will provide you vehicle to visit Leh Market & back to hotel & overnight stay at the leh.
In the morning, after breakfast, drive to Sangam (Confluence). En route visit Magnetic Hill and Gurudwara Patthar Sahib. Visit Confluence of Zanskar and Indus River.The Sangam (Confluence): Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers lies in Ladakh at Nimu. The Indus runs through Ladakh all along by your side serving as a constant companion and you feel a sense of respect for this ifeline of the people of Ladakh, especially since Ladakh experiences rainfall of only 2 to 3 inches throughout the year. Both Indus and Zanskar Rivers merge with each other as if they had flown all along just for that purpose. From this point on, beyond this Confluence of the two, the waters are regarded as the Indus River. Magnetic Hill: Can anyone ever imagine the movement of a vehicle up a steep mountain with its engines off? Reach Magnetic Hill to experience this phenomenon which sounds unbelievable. Gurudwara Pathhar Sahib: Gurudwara Pathar Sahib is a beautiful Gurudwara constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak, about 25 miles away from Leh, on the Leh-Kargil road, 12000 ft above sea level. The Gurudwara was built in 1517 to commemorate the visit to the Ladakh region of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder Guru of the Sikh faith. Hall of Fame: Hall of Fame in Leh is a must visit for every individual of India. This is constructed by the Indian Army. You will find memorabilia, eminent defence personalities’ biographies, images and weapons used during Kargil war and belongings of enemy soldiers found at war site. Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Leh Monastery, Leh Palace - Built in 1430, the Leh Palace is popular among tourists for its large statue of Lord Buddha called Chamba by Ladakhi. The statue represents the future Buddha according to Lamas. Sankar Gompa - Located at a distance of 3-kms, the monastery has a good collection of miniature paintings. This can also be visited in the evening as it is well lit. & back to hotel & over night in leh.
Monastery and Shey Palace Morning visit to Hemis Monastery, which is situated 45 kilometers west of Leh. Hemis is the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you will be driven back via the same route in order to visit the Thiksey Monastery, which is located on a hillock. This will be followed by a visit to the Shey Palace , which is the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. Overnight at the Hotel in Leh.
Optional: Attending the prayer ceremony at Thiksay monastery, performed in the assembly hall starting at 05:30hrs, followed with a pack breakfast.
Today after an early breakfast, we will be driven on Srinagar highway to visit Alchi monastery. This is one of the oldest monasteries, being founded in 11 th centaury, and is the only monastery situated on low lands along the bank of River Indus. This monastery differs from the rest, as it has a mixture of Kashmiri and Tibetan Arts. After that, we will continue walking to up to hotel/guesthouse, which we will check into upon arrival for the next two nights. The rest of the day is at leisure or an optional walk. Later in the afternoon, we will take a drive to visit Rizong monastery, and the only nunnery in Ladakh. It is also known as Chomoling and is beautifully situated in a gorge and overnight at the hotel at Alchi.
3 hours beautiful walk one way Today after an early breakfast, we will set out on a easy trek to Mangyu village to visit the Mangyu monastery, which can only be reached by foot. The Mangyu monastery is among the earliest monasteries of the region. The complex consists of four chambers. The main temple houses the image of Vaircona, with the four Buddhas of the directions around him. The entrance to this temple has thoroughly eloboratly carved wooden doorways, and on the walls are the paintings of mandalas of Vairocana. The monastery also houses the rare thangkas (scroll paintings on the cloth) of the Panchen Lama, brought from Tibet . Lunch at Mangyu and we then walk back to Alchi and overnight at stay in Alchi.
After an early breakfast, we will drive to connect with the Srinagar-Leh highway, and then continue the drive to Lamayuru. Upon arrival, we will visit the Lamayuru Monastery, which is among the oldest monasteries in central Ladakh, being founded in 10th century. This will be followed by a brief visit to Lamayuru village, situated at the foot of the Monastery. We will return to Leh taking the same Srinagar-Leh highway, arrive Leh and check into the hotel. Overnight in Leh.
Morning After breakfast, transfer will be given to Leh airport to board your flights for Onward destination. our service terminates here.
